UK businesses that take card payments through PayPoint could apply for a merchant cash advance or merchant loan. A cash advance lets you borrow against your future card takings and repay as a percentage of sales rather than a fixed monthly amount.
Disclaimer: We are not affiliated with PayPoint.
PayPoint runs one of the largest payment networks in UK convenience retail, and has owned the card terminal provider Handepay since 2021.
If your business takes payments through a PayPoint terminal, you could apply for a cash advance. Fill in the form below to apply.
PayPoint Cash Advance Finance
A merchant cash advance is repaid as a percentage of your card takings rather than as a fixed monthly payment, so the repayment flexes with your trade. Our merchant cash advance page explains how the product works in full. We work with a number of lenders that will fund against PayPoint sales.
Who Uses PayPoint
PayPoint terminals are found in convenience stores, newsagents, forecourts and small supermarkets, often alongside a PayPoint One till. Like Payzone, the same device may be processing bill payments and parcel services as well as card sales, so the card revenue has to be isolated on the statement. If your card acceptance actually runs through Handepay under the PayPoint umbrella, we have a separate page for that.
- Trading for at least three months
- Minimum card turnover of around £3,000 a month
- Borrow up to 200% of your average monthly PayPoint card sales
- Most business sectors covered, funds for any legitimate business purpose
- Poor credit considered, because the lender is buying future sales rather than lending against your credit file
Example
Average monthly card sales: £14,000
Amount of finance: £14,000
Factor rate: 1.24
Total repayment: £17,360
Repayment sweep: 10%
In this example you borrow £14,000 and repay 10% of your future card takings until you have repaid £17,360. Some facilities carry a minimum monthly payment. Figures are illustrative and not a quotation.
